EMPRYO TRANSFER

This is the actual procedure where the embryos formed after in vitro fertilization are transferred back into the patient’s uterus under sterile conditions. We use mild sedation and in some cases where problems are anticipated in negotiating the cervix, short anesthesia may be required.

We do both conventional transfers as well as ultrasound-guided transfers and have found the pregnancy rates to be almost similar. In every situation there lies an indication and hence the choice of our users may vary from patient to patient.

The ultrasound-guided transfer has worked out well in those cases of previous failures and difficulty in negotiating the cavity due to problems like adenomyosis and previous surgeries.
