Indications

Female Partner

1. Tubal factor

  • Tubal blockage due to infection and associated complications
  • Patent but non functional tubes
  • Previously sterilized and in those whom recanalisation is not feasible
  • Congenital absence of tubes

2. Unexplainod infertility

  • Age of the women is more than 36 years, NF is an earlier option
  • Following six or more failures with intrauterine

3. Polycystic ovarian disease

  • If there is persistent elevation of LM, failure of six or more attempts of intrauterine insemination or following a poor response to conventional ovulation inducing agents

4. Endometriosis

  • In cases of severe endometriosis and in those cases of mild to moderate where conventional treatment regimes have failed (as in unexplained)

5. Cervical factor/Immunological infertility

  • Presence of Antisperm antibodies either in the cervical mucous or in serology

Male Partner

  • Unexplained infertility
  • Immunological infertility
  • Severe Oligoasthenozoospermia
  • Azoospermia – if the couple are unwilling for therapeutic donor insemination
  • Any congenital conditions requiring sperm retrieval procedures from the epididymis or testis
